Sometimes I think of John Lennon, by Frank Brownell

Sometimes I think of John Lennon.

There were so many things I wanted to say:

“John, I love you; John, you move me;

John, you’ve helped show me the way.”

Sometimes I think of John Lennon.

And the Christmas card I was going to write.

Letting him know there was someone out there,

Who heard him say: “It’s all right, it’s all right.”

Sometimes I think of John Lennon.

And I’ll never forget that terrible night.

The cries, the moans, the still-flowing tears,

Now it’s too late to write.

Sometimes I think of John Lennon.

Though gone, he’s still talking to me:

“If you love someone now, don’t wait ’til they’re dead,

Show your love, let them know how you feel.”

    Hmmm. John Lennon seems to be an
    emotional crossroads of the mind for many of us….I guess that’s about right…
